Drew Starkey was born on November 04, 1993 to Jodi Ballard and basketball coach Todd Starkey. He has a brother, Logan, and two sisters, Brooke and Mackayla. He attended St. Stephens High School. Then, he enrolled in Western Carolina University, earning the inaugural Charles Stancil Stephens-Kudzu Players Scholarship that is given to students of the School of Stage and Screen academic program. He starred in several short films such as The Radical Nortion of Gene Mutation, Bounds, and Love Is the Longest Con. Drew graduated in 2016 with a double major in both English and Theatre performance.

After graduating, he pursued his career as an actor. He made his first television appearance in PBS’ Mercy Street in 2017 as a gambling soldier. He appeared in several other shows such as Shots Fired, Ozark, Valor, Good Behavior, Brockmire, and The Resident. Drew made his first appearance on film in the 2018 movie, American Animals. He then starred in more films such as Love, Simon, Mine 9, The Devil All the Time, and Embattled.

He got his big break in 2020 with his role as Rafe Cameron in the hit Netflix original series, Outer Banks. The character, and Drew, has made quite an impression on viewers with his on-screen presence. In 2022, he was cast as Trevor in the supernatural horror film, Hellraiser, a reboot of the franchise of the same name.

Drew can next be seen in the films, The Other Zoey with Josephine Langford and Archie Renaux, and Queer with Daniel Craig.
